Embracing Summer: Family, Fun, and the Joy of Connection

As summer rolls in, there's a buzz of excitement in the air. Families are making plans, friends are organizing get-togethers, and many are simply looking forward to some well-deserved relaxation. As a mother of two, I've made a few fun plans with my family, too. Of course, planning and sending the kids to various summer camps has been both interesting and overwhelming. But the best part? Seeing the kids happy and safe, ready to embark on new adventures.

One of the blessings I cherish the most is being the owner of Namaste Brows and Boutique. This role allows me to meet people from all walks of life, hear their stories, and share a bit of my own. It's a privilege to connect with my customers on a personal level and build relationships that go beyond the professional.

Two months ago, I had a heartwarming encounter with a customer I adore. She is a young woman who first came to me two years ago to get her eyebrows done for her graduation. Last fall, she returned for her wedding preparations. When she came in recently, I couldn't help but ask how she was doing. She responded with a simple, "All good."

Feeling a sense of familiarity and connection, I jokingly said, "Soon, I hope you'll share that you're pregnant!" To my delight, she responded with, "Actually, I am." I was overjoyed! We hugged, sharing a moment of pure happiness. It is truly an honor to have loyal customers and to be a part of their life journeys.

Yesterday, when she came in, I could see she looks pregnant now—beautiful and radiant. I asked her how she was feeling, and she said a little uncomfortable. She felt so comfortable sharing all the hard things about being pregnant. I listened and learned that every pregnancy is different. More than giving suggestions, the best thing we women can do for a pregnant woman is to lend our ears.

After talking to her, I felt a strong sense of community and gratitude. I told her I would love to give her a few of my daughter's baby clothes, and she was thrilled. I pray for her pregnancy to go smoothly and for her to experience all the joys of motherhood. She is halfway through, and I truly feel happy for her. This weekend, she is going to Florida for a babymoon. As a Nepali, I didn’t know what that is, and she shared all her plans for the babymoon. It sounds wonderful.

This summer, amidst the fun plans and busy schedules, I am reminded of the importance of connection and the joy that comes from sharing in each other's lives. Whether it's through a simple conversation or a thoughtful gesture, these moments enrich our lives and create lasting memories. Here's to a summer filled with love, laughter, and meaningful connections.
