Embracing Spring 2024: Reflections on Growth, Gratitude, and Community

As I gaze out of my store window, I'm struck by the absence of snow in Minnesota this spring. Having lived here for 12 years, I can't help but feel a twinge of nostalgia for the snowy landscapes I've come to love. However, this year's snowless welcome to spring brings a mix of emotions — joy for the change and a hint of longing for the familiar white blanket.

The bustling parking lot outside, once just a wish, is now a reality. Since October 2021, our strip mall has seen the emergence of numerous new small businesses, creating a vibrant hub that attracts customers from all corners of Minnesota and beyond. While finding a parking space can sometimes be a challenge, I am immensely grateful for the growth and prosperity our mall has experienced, contributing to the economic vitality of Roseville.

Reflecting on my journey, I'm filled with gratitude for the opportunities that have come my way. From dreaming of being the Prime Minister of Nepal as a child to now serving as the HRIEC Commissioner for the City of Roseville, a board member of Do Good Roseville, and part of the advisory board for Rice and Larpenteur Alliance, I have been able to play a significant role in my community. These roles have not only allowed me to connect with people but also to listen to their experiences and concerns, which I take very seriously.

I share these reflections not to boast but to encourage you to ponder your own path. Are you investing time in personal growth and learning? Are you actively contributing to your community, and if not, what's holding you back? As an immigrant who started with nothing, I firmly believe that with dedication, anyone can achieve their dreams.

This year, I'm embarking on two significant goals. Firstly, I am proud to announce that, thanks to your support and encouragement, I will be representing Nepali Woman handicrafts at the upcoming Minnesota State Fair. Your prayers and suggestions are invaluable as I prepare for this exciting opportunity. Additionally, I am committed to completing a documentary that honors the seniors who have shaped my life profoundly.

I invite you to join me on this journey of intentional living, making the most of our strengths and talents to create a meaningful legacy. If you have questions or simply want to connect over coffee, I'm always open to conversations that inspire growth and positivism.

Let's embrace spring with gratitude, embrace our dreams with determination, and build a community that thrives on shared values and aspirations.
