“A Season of Stillness, Strength, and Showing Up”

I usually try not to get emotional right away in these blogs—but June 2025 made that nearly impossible.

As always, I want to speak honestly with you. This month has been full of growth, learning, joy, and some real challenges. But above all, it’s been memorable in the most powerful ways.

We began the month at Grand Old Day on June 1st. This was our second year as a vendor, and it felt different—in the best way. I was more prepared, more confident, and more present. I knew what to expect from the crowd and how to better serve them. It was a moment of reflection: Wow, I’m really growing in this space. The biggest lesson I took from that day? Don’t just show up - enjoy the market.

June also marked the completion of the Top Shelf Retail Cohort through the Women’s Business Development Center (WBDC). Let me tell you—it was intense. Eight weeks of pushing myself, doubting myself, learning hard lessons, and still choosing to keep going. On June 12th, I graduated and pitched my business to representatives from major companies like Ulta, Target, Walgreens, and Kowalski’s. In just three minutes, I shared my story—something I never imagined being able to do so concisely! I’ve rewatched the feedback several times because their encouragement and suggestions meant so much.

A few days later, on June 19th, I got to pitch again—this time in person at Kowalski’s headquarters in Woodbury. They loved our felt collection, and I’m now preparing a final pitch. I’m working hard behind the scenes and would love your prayers and positive thoughts as I take this next step!

Amidst the hustle, I promised myself to stay calm and create space to just be. We hosted a few private “Drinks & Dresses” events—intimate gatherings filled with connection, laughter, and real conversation with my close circle. These women lift me up, and I’m endlessly grateful for their presence in my life.

As a mom, summer break adds its own layer of emotion. While I juggle work, I also want to be present for my kids. I sometimes feel guilty for all the camps and activities I sign them up for just to keep up. Every night I ask them, “Did you enjoy your day?” And I hope I’m doing enough. I’d love to have more conversations with fellow working moms—because we’re all figuring it out together.

We also celebrated Father’s Day at home. At Namaste Brows and Boutique, we don’t spotlight it much, but personally—it’s deeply meaningful. My own father has always put us first, and now my children have a dad who shows up with joy, play, and love. This year, we made a chocolate cake from scratch and spent the day simply being together. Sometimes, that’s exactly what we need most.

This was my second year serving on the Juneteenth Committee for Do Good Roseville, and I’m so proud of what we created. On June 14th, our community gathered to celebrate with love and unity. It was a cool day in terms of weather—but incredibly warm in spirit.

Of course, in the background of everything, we’ve been gearing up for the Minnesota State Fair! We’ve been carefully curating new items and making improvements to create an even better customer experience at our booth this year. Stay tuned—some exciting updates are coming soon!

Now for two announcements I’m thrilled to share: We will be hosting the Fall Vendor Market at Rosedale Mall from October 24–26! Last year, I told myself that I wouldn’t just participate in events—I’d host one. And now, it’s happening. We’ll also be back at Rosedale Mall this holiday season with a cart during November and December. We’ll have our handcrafted collections available, and your support would mean the world to us.

Lastly, today—June 27th—I had the honor of being interviewed by a high school student who’s part of a transition program at St. Thomas University for visually impaired youth. She dreams of being a fashion designer, and her thoughtful questions made me reflect deeply: How did I start? What do I do on hard days? Where did the funding come from? What’s the future of Namaste?

Answering those questions reminded me that my story can inspire and help others. That my challenges can be someone else's guide. And that this journey, though often overwhelming, is so incredibly beautiful.

There’s a lot on my plate right now—but I’m grounded in faith, in my family's love, and in the belief that everything is unfolding just as it’s meant to. Thank you for walking this journey with me.

With love and light,
