May Reflections: A Month of Growth, Gratitude, and Grace

I can’t believe it’s already the end of May. I’ve told myself several times today, “Write the blog,” and just like that, time flew by. If there’s one thing I’m learning over and over again as an entrepreneur and a mother, it’s this: if you don’t block time and commit, it’s easy for the day to slip away. This month was a whirlwind — busy, beautiful, and deeply meaningful.
As we wrap up the final month of school, emotions run high in our home. Our son is graduating from Pre-K today and our daughter is finishing 2nd grade next week. Watching them grow, make decisions, and shine in their own unique ways fills me with pride — and yes, a little emotion too. Every day, I work hard for them, but like many entrepreneurs, I can’t always be there in the way I want to be. Yet, they continue to accept me, love me, and believe in me — just as I am. That’s a gift I hold close to my heart.
To all the entrepreneurial mothers and fathers out there: I see you. I’m with you. This journey is filled with moments of pride, sacrifice, and faith. The risks are high, but so is the purpose. My belief in becoming a successful businesswoman fuels me, especially knowing that my children are watching my every move. My entire family — my husband, my children — have sacrificed with me. This dream is ours, not just mine.
Let me share some of this month’s highlights:
Serving Seniors with Love
On May 17th, my dear friend Kathy from Do Good Roseville and I served 45 seniors at Roseville Seniors with a taco lunch. Kathy did all the shopping, and my dad, husband, and I took care of prepping, cooking, and serving. The seniors were so happy and thankful — the joy on their faces was priceless. We watched them laugh, share stories, and enjoy being with their neighbors at one big table. Kathy and I hope to make this a monthly lunch and social hour. We welcome any volunteers or donors who would like to support us in creating more moments of connection like this. Our seniors deserve to feel seen, celebrated, and loved.
Namaste Brows and Boutique at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds
Last week, we were honored to be a vendor at the Summer Kickoff at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds. It was an incredible experience. My favorite moments? Seeing returning customers from last year — people who took the time to say hello and share how much they loved their purchases. Those four days reminded me of the 12 intense days we spent at the State Fair last year — how hard we worked and how much we grew.
We are thrilled to be returning to the Minnesota State Fair from August 22 to September 1, 2025, on the 2nd floor of the Grandstand. This year, we’re approaching it with fresh energy — ready to work smart, have fun, and be fearless. Experience is everything, and we can’t wait for a successful second year!
"Gift of Grace" Documentary Premiere
On May 14th, I had the honor of walking the red carpet and premiering my documentary “Gift of Grace” at the AAPI Film Festival. It was an emotional and unforgettable evening, surrounded by loved ones and a full house. This documentary, completed two years ago, tells a very personal story. It’s not easy to be vulnerable and open in public, but I’ve chosen to live my life not only for myself and my family but to be a light and source of strength for others.
MomBoss 5K Finalist Experience
On May 18th, I had the privilege of being a finalist for the Collections 5K Grant winner organized by Covey Events at The Hutton House. While I didn’t win, the experience was nothing short of amazing. Sharing space with inspiring women, Running 5K, pitching my business with confidence, selling Namaste's Collections and receiving feedback from an engaged community reminded me of how far I’ve come — and how much further I can go. It was a proud moment that energized me for what’s ahead.
Chameleon Program with the City of Minneapolis
On May 1st, I received news that I had been selected as one of four new Chameleons by the City of Minneapolis. I am beyond grateful and excited for this opportunity. The future feels bright — and yes, also uncertain. But I am grounded in faith and prayer, trusting that everything is unfolding in God’s will. I will keep you posted.
My Husband’s 40th Birthday Celebration
On May 26th, we celebrated a truly special milestone — my husband’s 40th birthday. Since it fell on Memorial Day, we were all able to be present and fully focus on him. We invited over 40 friends and family members to gather in our backyard, and we had an absolute blast. Being surrounded by people we love, and respect reminded me just how blessed we are to walk this journey with a community full of big hearts. I am personally so thankful for my loyal and servant-hearted husband. He is my rock — always supporting, always steady. I wish him good health, happiness, and continued strength. I’m incredibly grateful to have him by my side.
Learning Never Stops
I’ve also stepped into student mode this month, beginning the Top SHELF Cohort and Pitch Class with the Women’s Business Development Center (WBDC). It’s been intense — all hands in, no missed classes — but the level of support and resources is truly incredible. I’m thankful for every bit of it.
As I sit here reflecting on May, I want to thank each and every one of you who believes in me, supports me, and walks with me in this journey. I pray for clarity, confidence, and peace for the rest of this month and the year ahead. Here's to dreaming bigger, working harder, and loving deeper — one day, one moment, one prayer at a time.
With gratitude,
